Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that websites can store on your device while you browse. They are used to make sites work properly, remember preferences, improve security, or (in other cases) measure site usage.

2. Cookies We Use

The BEAST LABS, SLU website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages.

BEAST LABS does not set analytics or advertising/marketing cookies from its own code.

However, Cloudflare may set strictly necessary technical cookies when security and protection features are activated or required (for example, bot mitigation, challenges, anti-abuse rules, or rate limiting). Cloudflare describes these cookies as "strictly necessary" for their security solutions to work.

Types of cookies used:

  • Session cookies: automatically deleted when you close the browser or after a short time; they enable basic browsing/security.
  • Security cookies: help protect the site against abuse, bots, and attacks.

3. Cloudflare Cookies (infrastructure/security)

These cookies do not always appear; they depend on security configuration and traffic behavior. If the visitor receives a challenge or if the site applies anti-bot/rate limiting protection, Cloudflare may set some of the following:

Cookie Provider Purpose Typical Duration
__cf_bm Cloudflare Cookie necessary for anti-bot products (Bot Management / Bot Fight Mode). ~30 min of inactivity
cf_clearance Cloudflare Certifies that the visitor has passed a challenge and prevents repeating it during its validity. Variable
__cfseq Cloudflare "Sequence rules" cookies to validate request sequences and prevent abuse. Variable
__cfruid Cloudflare Rate Limiting support (older version). Session / short
_cfuvid Cloudflare Distinguish visitors sharing IP to apply rate limiting when that option is enabled. Session / short
__cflb Cloudflare Session affinity for Load Balancer (only if enabled). Seconds to 24h

Transfers / processing by provider: Cloudflare indicates that, by default, cookie data may be processed in their data centers (including the US), unless the customer uses specific data localization options.

4. Cookies We Do NOT Use

This website does NOT use, as of the date of this policy:

  • Analytics or measurement cookies (e.g., Google Analytics, Hotjar, etc.)
  • Advertising or marketing cookies
  • Social media cookies
  • Personalization cookies
  • Third-party cookies for advertising/analytics purposes

Important note: although we do not use third-party cookies for analytics/marketing purposes, Cloudflare may set technical third-party cookies (security/operation) as described in section 3.

5. Legal Basis

The use of strictly necessary cookies (technical/security) is based on our legitimate interest in providing a functional and secure website and protecting it against abuse and attacks, in line with Article 6.1.f of the GDPR (when applicable).

If in the future we incorporate non-essential cookies (analytics/marketing), we will request prior consent through a cookie banner/manager and enable a clear option to reject them.

6. Managing Cookies

You can configure your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the site may not work properly (for example, a security challenge may repeat or access may be prevented).

Additionally, if the site includes a "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer, you will be able to review and modify your preferences when non-essential cookies exist.
